Dear Jessica,

Are there any instructions or diagrams as to how to wear the Multi-Way Bra?

Thank you!

Soma currently offers several convertible multi-way bras – the Allura, the Multi-Way Plunge and the Multi-Way Eva. For this “HOW TO” post, I will focus on the Multi-WayAllura, a convertible version of our popular Full Coverage Allura Bra. This versatile style is one of my all-time favorite picks because it creates a no-show look under almost any neckline you wear. How does it work? The Multi-Way Allura has detachable straps that can be attached to multiple openings in the front and back. Here are some of the ways it can be adjusted to suit the trickiest of necklines:

STRAPLESS:
To wear the Multi-Way Allura under strapless dresses and tops, just detach the straps. The seamless contour underwire cups give you a smooth look under any thin fabric.  And the double silicone bands along both the top and bottom of the band offer superior, stay-put fit — it won’t fall down!

HALTER:
Halter-tops are always in fashion — except when your bra straps show! Just hook a single strap to a front loop, bring the strap around your neck, and fasten it on the other side. You may need to adjust the clasp so the strap length fits comfortably around your neck.

CENTER HALTER:
Some of the prettiest halter-tops have straps coming from the center-front of the bodice. For this style, hook a single bra strap to one of the center-front bra loops, bring it around your neck and fasten it to the other center loop.

ONE SHOULDER:
One of the most elegant, classic yet modern styles you can wear is a one-shoulder look.  For an invisible look that stays perfectly in place, hook a single strap from one side in the back, pull it over the opposite shoulder and fasten it in the front.

CRISSCROSSED OR RACERBACK:
For a dress or top with a racerback or straps that crisscross in back, hook the straps to the center of the back, put on the bra, pull them over the opposite shoulder and fasten them. You can position the hooks anywhere along the specially designed back.

Of course, you can also wear this fabulous style with both straps over your shoulders, just like you’d wear your regular bra.

I started The Undercover Post blog almost a year ago. Over the last year, I’ve tried my best to answer your questions and provide tips and advice on how to find a perfect fit. There are a multitude of styles and fits out there and my goal, above all else, is to try to take the guesswork out of choosing a great fitting and comfortable bra. Thank you for reading the blog and for all of your wonderful questions and comments. It’s interesting to note that over the past year I’ve received one reader question more than any other bra inquiry:

Will the Vanishing Back Bra be available in a wire-free style?

Well, I’ve got amazing news! You already love the original Full Coverage styles — and now we have Wirefree AND Unlined! And more good news, we now fit cup sizes A-DDD!

For those of you who haven’t tried Vanishing Back, here’s what you’re missing: Incredibly comfortable exclusive back-smoothing technology that means no bumps or lines! The secret’s in the powerful, uniquely shaped back — plus what’s not there: no elastic on the top or the bottom like most bras. In addition, the super-soft, microfiber straps conveniently adjust in front rather than in back, adding to the smooth, flawless look!

Our Vanishing Back Full Coverage Front Close Bra which features a completely
smooth back and supportive contour underwire cups in cup sizes B-DD.

The Vanishing Back Full Coverage bra, in cup sizes B-DDD, has a traditional
back closure that dips a little lower in back than the Front Close — so it’s
the perfect choice under scoop-back tops and dresses.

With our new Vanishing Back Wirefree bra — now in cup sizes A-DD — you get
that same support and coverage without the wire! This bra is so comfortable
that you can even sleep in it!

If you prefer a natural look, our new Vanishing Back Unlined bra features
molded cups that shape and support you without any padding.

We also have the Vanishing Back Unlined bra in a convenient Front Close style.
Both unlined bras come in cup sizes B-DDD.

There’s a major trend for fall that I’m quite excited about and there’s no better word to describe it than PRETTY. Last February, I spent some time in New York at Fall 2011 Fashion Week and couldn’t help but fall in love with the ladylike styles that graced the runways. I’m swooning over the season’s sensuous fabrics like silk chiffon, lace and satin. It’s not about being fussy or too ruffled or girly; it’s more of a romantic elegance. Here are my favorite new picks from Soma:

Vintage Satin Bra

Oh My Gorgeous Rachel Lace Bra

Oh My Gorgeous Hipster

Valencia Long Gown

Cool Nights Vintage Chemise

Ever had trouble finding the right bra to wear under a dress or top with a tricky neckline? You’re not the only one. Here’s a question that I recently received from a reader:

I’m a size 38 DD and I find it impossible to find a strapless bra. They all seem to make me look saggy. I’ll soon be wearing a strapless dress in a wedding and I need help. Any suggestions? It would really help me out.

Have you ever tried a Convertible Bra? Also known as a Multi-Way, a Convertible Bra has detachable straps that can be adjusted to suit almost any neckline. Soma offers several bras in Multi-Way styles, including our #1 selling bra – the Allura. The Multi-Way Allura offers full-coverage, comfortable all-day support. Its seamless contour cups won’t show through under thin and clingy fabric. The best part about the Multi-Way Allura is that its straps can be easily adjusted to work with a multitude of fashion styles, including dresses and tops that are strapless, one-shoulder, criss-crossed, halter and more. And, of course, you can wear it like a traditional bra, with one strap over each shoulder.

Enjoy the wedding!

Best,
Jessica
