I recently read a post on the popular blog, Chictopia, titled “What Your Bra Says About You”. The story pairs bra styles with personality traits. For example, if you tend to wear lacy bras, you’re in the company of celebrities like Megan Fox, and you’re confident, detailed and friendly. If you’re more of a “classic” bra wearer like Eva Mendes, you’re influential, popular and comfortable in your own skin. If you’re like Blake Lively and favor Push-Up Bras, you’re outgoing, irresistible and trendy. What do you think? Is the bra you wear reflective of your personality? Does it depend on how you feel that particular day? Or do you own a variety of styles to suit your wardrobe AND the many facets of your personality? Is there something here or is this “bra personality” idea just for fun? I’d love to hear your comments!
Xx,
Jessica

I’m a little different from what Chictopia says. I wear the “classic” Allura bra (the one in the picture), because it makes me feel confident! I like that it’s smooth under my clothes.
I believe a bra can provide you with confidence, which doesn’t necessarily have to be a personality trait.
Being a gemini, I love many. My “girls” do too, as long as they are perky. Soma bras always deliver! And they are sooo comfortable. We love you Soma!
I’m more of a “classic” bra wearer, but it does depend on the occasion.
I’m a “Blake” all the way! But please, don’t start any gossip about me:)
What my bra says about me: “She needs to throw me away.”
Now that is funny
To me, my bra is just like any other piece of my wardrobe, so however I’m feeling for that day determines which bra I choose. Some days I’m little Blake and others I’m Eva all the way!
I think the bra personality is a fun idea! I wish I was more of a Blake, but practicality usually wins out. I do like how Soma has a basic bra with a little lace so it’s never boring. For me, it’s easier to show personality with underwear. If I’m at the office, I can hide leopard print underwear underneath a pencil skirt better than a push-up bra peeking through a white blouse! Maybe I need to think about some more interesting bras…
This is such an interesting topic, Jessica. Thanks for bringing it up… I’ll have to share with my husband that my boring beige bra actually means I’m “comfortable in my own skin!” (and popular and influential)… I have to agree with EVB that the traditional beige bra is indeed easier to dress on top of than something more colorful and sexy. Though I do own a few expensive, sexy bras, I find they do just sit in the drawer, lonely and unused. Would love to find a way of being both sexy and practical for every day! Great blog. LOVE SOMA!
What a fun topic of discussion, Jessica! While I like to think I am combination of Megan, Eva and Blake, I would definitely lean more towards the “classic” style of Eva. Although, as gravity kicks in each year, the push up bra is always a lovely added touch! SOMA is amazing with all it’s bra styles…and personalities!
My bra personality falls somewhere in between. I’ve always bought lacy bras for the look and how they made me feel. But, over the last couple of years I have started to gravitate toward function and comfort. At Soma I’ve been able to find a happy medium!
I think that my bra collection might say that I have a multiple personality disorder, and my ex-boyfriend would probably agree
, but actually it’s all about how I feel when I’m getting dressed…on my “skinny” days when I feel my most sexy, I definitely go for the push-up bra…on my more active days when comfort is the most important factor, I tend choose the Vanishing back bra and, Friday and Saturday nights are all about the lace (love the Travelers Allura Bella Underwire Bra!!!).
My bra says, “this is what I conquered.” I like to think of it more as an impediment more akin to a masterlock I need to pick.
I have to agree w/Ms. EVB – bras are fun, they can make a statement but it is really the panties that are the best indicators of my mood! I do feel sexier & more playful in a lacier push up bra!
I choose a bra based on the outfit that I’m wearing, and the outfit usually reflects my personality – or at least my mood. So, I guess in a round about way, the bra I choose (when I choose to wear one) tends to match my personality too. Is there a certain type of personality trait that choosed comfort over underwire, padding and lace?
I want a bra that I can feel good in at the same time being comfy and attractive,I perfer lace
I love Allura bra for every day use..
All my bra says about me is “She has big boobs and can’t find enough variety!” It’s hard to find cute, affordable styles that reflect my personality in my bra size (34 DD-DDD). Basic black and beige aren’t that hard to find, but it’s rare to find other colors or patterns in enough of a variety of styles to be able to find one that fits the shape of my breasts. More styles should be available in large cup/small band combos, please!
I totally agree with LJ! Same size same problem!!
